The Plight of Medical Marijuana
While laws are becoming more lenient in certain locales, it remains a fierce battle between the good people of this nation, and the stubborn uncompassionate few that continue to fight against those in need. 1LOVE Collective’s mission is to stand tall in the belief that medicine should be made readily available and affordable to those with a genuine need.
It is an obvious fact that Marijuana has been discriminated against due to its ease of harvesting. If the only way to produce Marijuana was through the profiteering hands of medical companies such as Pfizer and Merck, it would be currently available through any doctor and any pharmacy to any age bracket in the US and most likely the world. Since it is a natural medication which can be made by anyone, it is federally considered an illegal substance.
Some argue that Marijuana is a recreational drug, and therefore it should be treated differently than other pharmaceuticals. I’d like to point out drug “pharming” parties in which most medicine cabinets turn into playtime for teens all across our country. There are more intense pleasures to be had by legal drugs such as Vicodin, Xanax, and OxyContin, and while there are those who argue that Marijuana was the gateway to these harder legal drugs… perhaps it was the Xanax that led to the Xanax.
The answer is not to de-legalize pharmaceuticals. Too many who suffer chronic pain and other ailments need these substances to function. Marijuana patients are no different.
Those who suffer pain which can be alleviated from the use of Medical Marijuana should not have to fear persecution from the law. They shouldn’t have to seek illegal means to remedy their aches. They should have conventional access to Medicinal Marijuana just like any other medication.
Likewise those who aide through the harvesting, distribution, and prescription of Medical Marijuana according to State Law shouldn’t fear sentencing from Federal Authorities.
The U.S. Declaration of Independence states that among our rights are: life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Yet we contradict it when we imprison a cancer patient who is merely seeking his unalienable god given rights.
The Tenth Amendment states “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.” How did Federal Laws usurp State Laws and the rights of the people without violating the Tenth Amendment? Where was it that we became a Totalitarian nation and the rights of our States and the people of our nation was discarded?
Federal Marijuana laws are ancient, and have not been altered since the Reagan Administration. While we have progressed in our understanding of medical science, we still punish the health stricken with laws intended for criminals. It has been biblically stated that to move a mountain all you need is faith as small as a mustard seed. In our plight we need much more than faith.
To move this mountain of stubborn antiquated ideals, we need to stand tall and proud, and find the mustard seed of compassion deep in the heart of Americans. We must educate ourselves and others around us and labor towards a unified goal for all who support Medicinal Marijuana use.
And if we don’t?
Nothing will change for companies like Pfizer and Merck who earn billions from profiteering off of drugs that often have harmful and fatal consequences. Transversely nothing will change for those who suffer chronic illnesses that can only be alleviated by a drug that is naturally harvested, with mild side effects.
1LOVE Collective stands proud to do our part for better change in this plight. We welcome all who wish to join hands and stand strong, together. Because we know that individually we may be as small as a mustard seed. But together we can move mountains.
Do Something That Matters For Someone Other Than You
Our website has launched, the Collective has been up and running for a week now, and we’ve quickly started building up our membership base. We are open for applications for both Regular and Sponsored Members.
1Love is launched!
Yes, that’s right, we’ve launched! Well officially. We have all of our documents and filings completed and can now start adding Members.
We are still working on moving into our office, as well as a few other operational duties. But that does not keep us from our #1 objective, providing safe access to Medical Marijuana to our Collective Members.
So to best uphold our objective, we are offering new Members a free sample gram. And all we ask for in return is that it brightens your day!
Oh my, it’s 12:31, and lot’s and lot’s of things to do tomorrow. So that would mean good night
1LOVE, a Non-Profit Collective COMING SOON!
